Note

To conﬁgure channels for a future installation, connect using a virtual connection,

create a virtual sensor ﬁle and then back up the conﬁguration settings that you cre-

ated. After the ﬁle is successfully backed up, the virtual sensor ﬁle will change to a

sensor setup ﬁle and can be restored to any sensor in the ﬁeld.

When a connection is made to the SmartSensor Matrix, the main menu will appear and all

conguration options will become available (see Figure 5.9).

Communication Error Log

e error log contains all errors stored in the sensor’s memory buer. If you are having

trouble connecting, using the error log may be helpful in the troubleshooting process. If you

continue having trouble, save the error log le and contact Wavetronix Technical Services.

Note

The error log is cleared every time you close SSMM, so if you need to save the ﬁle, do

so before shutting the program down.

Click the Error Log icon to view the communications error log (see Figure 5.10). e

error log can also be accessed by clicking on the Error Log icon at the bottom of the Com-

munication screen.
